As part of the European Week of Sport, Óbuda University hosted its second Spinning Festival on 23 September in the Aula of the Bécsi Road campus. Students, lecturers and staff members came together for five consecutive spinning sessions. With 75 spinning bikes available in each session, the event offered a total of 375 participation slots from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The festival featured five themed sessions – Soul Ride, Power Ride, Fire Ride, Flow Ride and Glory Ride – offering participants a diverse and engaging workout experience. Spinning Hungary presenters Laura Gergye, Gergő Hajdu, Gabi Posch and Alexandra Simon ensured that each session had its own unique atmosphere and energy. A wide range of music, dynamic rhythms and the enthusiasm of the presenters kept the Aula energised throughout the evening.

The event got off to a strong start, with the lively atmosphere continuing throughout the afternoon and evening. Raffles and prize draws added an extra element of fun between the sessions, making the festival much more than a sporting event. It brought together physical activity, music, relaxation and community in one shared experience, transforming the University’s Aula into a vibrant sports and social space.

A particularly important aspect of the festival was the strong participation of students, alongside lecturers and staff members. The shared sporting experience brought together different members of the Óbuda University community, creating an opportunity for students, educators and employees to connect beyond their everyday roles and routines.

Óbuda University is committed to offering community programmes that encourage regular physical activity and an active lifestyle while contributing to physical and mental well-being and strengthening the university community. The Spinning Festival is a strong example of this approach, combining sport and social interaction to support a healthier, more active and more connected university environment.
