Health and Lifestyle Day Held – Focusing on Physical and Mental Well-being

At our university’s Health and Lifestyle Day, attention was drawn to the importance of physical and mental well-being as well as prevention, where students and staff together took an important step toward a healthier lifestyle. The organizers aimed to provide members of our community with a comprehensive overview of their current health condition while offering practical advice to help maintain everyday vitality.

The backbone of the event was formed by a wide range of health screenings provided by professionals from the Budapest Saint Margaret Hospital. Participants were able to undergo blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol level measurements, as well as ECG examinations and neuropathy screening. Technological precision was complemented by body composition measurements and BMI analysis, while medical consultations and dietary counseling helped participants interpret their results.

In the spirit of prevention, visitors could also participate in oral health screenings and dental education programs organized with the support of the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy. In addition, CPR and first aid training sessions provided essential knowledge for safer everyday life.

Sport and Mental Balance

The event was enriched by presentations from distinguished guests: Katalin Kovács, our three-time Olympic champion kayaker, and Barnabás Vízer, Sports Director of the Hungarian Cycling Federation, shared their experiences regarding the importance of sport and perseverance.

Alongside physical health, mental well-being also received special attention. Psychologists from Óbuda University welcomed participants with practical guidance on stress management and maintaining mental balance. The visually engaging and interactive elements of the event were provided by the Skill Laboratory of Saint Margaret Hospital, offering visitors insight into the behind-the-scenes world of healthcare professions.

Staff members of the ÓE-Kandó SC university sports association informed visitors about sports opportunities and divisions available at the university, while interested participants also had the opportunity to join the sports club. Those wishing to test their physical endurance in practice could try rowing ergometers, which were provided by the Hungarian Rowing Federation.
