Sustainability and Community Building at Bánki Faculty’s Clothes Swap Event

On May 11, 2026, the atmosphere at the Obuda University Donát Bánki Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering turned truly green as colleagues came together for a unique clothes swap event — or as participants happily called it, a “fun thrift exchange.”

The initiative, launched by Keserűné Balázs Tímea and Tóth Andrea, demonstrated how sustainability can become a shared community experience rather than a sacrifice. Participants brought clothes they no longer wore but that were still in excellent condition, allowing the garments to find new owners and begin a second life.

The event created a lively and welcoming atmosphere filled with conversations, laughter, and positive energy as colleagues browsed through the items together. Beyond being an enjoyable social activity, the clothes swap also highlighted the importance of conscious consumption and waste reduction.
