Csanák Edit DLA, lecturer and artist at Óbuda University, has received international recognition for her project IKONIKA SYMBIOTIKA, which won the “Innovative Material Sustainability” award at the SUSFUTURE 2026 International Sustainable Design Award competition.
The international initiative, organized annually by the SUSFUTURE organization, focuses on sustainable design, innovative material use, and the intersection of art, technology, and environmental responsibility. The awarded project was exhibited at the Central Gallery of the Rectorate Building of the University of Novi Sad in Serbia as part of the SUSFUTURE 2026 international exhibition.
IKONIKA SYMBIOTIKA represents the tenth collection of the autonomous creative brand IKONIKA, founded by Csanák Edit DLA. The brand is centered around the reinterpretation of denim as a creative material, combining sustainability, redesign principles, and recycling-based creative processes in each collection.

The project originated from a garment created from recycled denim, exploring the relationship between the body, material, and technology. Rather than functioning as a passive layer, the garment is interpreted as an active interface that continuously interacts with the human body and its environment.
In 2026, the project evolved further through AI-assisted visualization using Kling Omni technology, opening new possibilities for interpretation. The digital mannequin extends the garment beyond the limitations of physical presentation while rethinking concepts of accessibility, visibility, and presence in contemporary fashion and design.

The work brings together sustainable fashion, recycled material innovation, digital technologies, and inclusive design approaches. It demonstrates how artistic thinking, circular design principles, and technological experimentation can shape new directions in sustainable contemporary design.
Following its presentation in Novi Sad, the SUSFUTURE 2026 exhibition is expected to continue internationally, with a future exhibition location planned in China.
