Another Step Towards the Future – CSUST Summer AI Innovation Camp

As a result of their outstanding performance in the AI Squad course, two students from our faculty had the opportunity to represent Óbuda University at the CSUST Summer AI Innovation Camp, where they worked in teams on the topic of an Accessible Future.

During the project, they developed AI-supported hardware and software prototypes designed to improve accessibility for people with visual impairments.

The event took place in China, where our students had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills under competitive conditions, going beyond their engineering tasks and taking part in a comprehensive innovation process.

The professional focus of the project was Accessible Future.

Through their work, our students not only took on a professional challenge but also contributed to shaping a more liveable future.

“It was a particularly valuable experience to work with a team from a completely different cultural background, to gain new perspectives, and to build a concrete, functional prototype using the resources available to us. What is more, our task was not limited to engineering: we were involved in the entire process, from defining the problem to developing a complete business plan. The whole process felt like building an early-stage startup, and we are all very proud of what we achieved.” – Ádám Varga, BSc student in Computer Engineering

“During the event, my teammates and I focused on developing an AI-based accessibility solution designed to assist people with visual impairments. We created both hardware and software prototypes to turn our idea into reality, and I am extremely proud that our project ultimately won third place in the innovation competition at the camp. This experience not only strengthened my technical skills but also highlighted the profound impact artificial intelligence can have on the development of accessible technologies.” – Kanan Huseynli, BSc student in Computer Engineering

Despite working in different cultural and regional contexts, under a demanding schedule and continuous workload, the two outstanding students of the AI Squad course succeeded in producing work that we can all be proud of. The project demonstrated not only the value of knowledge and teamwork, but also contributed to advancing research and development in a field of significant social importance.
