Obuda University joins the Urban Tech & Smart City Awards 2026 initiative as a professional partner, which aims to showcase and professionally recognize domestic urban development, smart city, and innovation projects.
Organized for the first time by PPH Media, the competition provides a professional platform for technology and development projects that offer innovative solutions to the specific challenges of cities and urban life, contributing to making the urban environment more liveable, sustainable, and intelligent.
The competition is open to projects implemented in Hungary that were completed or entered their pilot phase between January 1, 2020, and August 31, 2026. Applications are welcomed in the following categories:
- I. Smart Home
- II. Intelligent Buildings
- III. Smart Logistics
- IV. Smart City Mobility
- V. Smart Infrastructure
- VI. Urban AI & Data-Driven
- VII. Green Infrastructure
A project can be entered in multiple categories, provided the content is tailored to each chosen category.
Increasing the visibility of domestic innovations and best practices is a key part of ensuring that sustainable urban development solutions reach a broader professional audience. A professional award not only offers recognition for implementers, but also creates new professional connections, collaboration opportunities, and inspiration.
Obuda University recommends the call for applications to its student and professional community, ensuring that as many innovative projects and initiatives as possible have the opportunity to showcase their contribution to the development of the cities of the future.
Submissions are accepted across three deadlines: September 21, September 28, and October 1, 2026, with different entry fees applying to each registration period. The first deadline on September 21 provides an early-bird submission opportunity.
