Obuda University Wins the “Lép a Cég” Corporate Walking Challenge

Movement, community, and health awareness were at the heart of the “Lép a Cég – Spring Vitality” challenge, which Obuda University joined for the second time this year. The three-week initiative encouraged participants to complete at least 8,000 steps per day, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle.

University employees embraced the challenge with outstanding enthusiasm: a total of 264 participants collected 2,289 “Daily 8” points and completed more than 18.3 million steps together during the program.

Thanks to this remarkable achievement, Obuda University won first place in Category 2 of the Large Enterprise Competition. The award was received by Dr. Zsuzsanna Csepeli, Rector’s Commissioner for Sports Affairs, from Dr. Anna Toldy, President of the Association for Healthier Workplaces.

Several university teams and participants achieved exceptional individual results throughout the challenge, demonstrating how community motivation and healthy competition can strengthen workplace cohesion and wellbeing. The participants’ dedication and perseverance contributed significantly to the university’s success.

An additional highlight of the initiative was the participation of 38 university colleagues in the “One Million Steps for Your School” activity. Through their efforts, the Boldogkőváralja District Primary School earned the opportunity to participate in a prize draw where schools can win sports equipment worth one million forints.

Beyond supporting physical wellbeing, the challenge also reinforced the importance of community engagement and social responsibility.

Thank you to everyone who participated with such energy, enthusiasm, and commitment!
