Sustainability Workshop within the Hungarian Universities Sustainability Platform

On February 12, 2025, a professional workshop was held as part of the Hungarian Universities Sustainability Platform at the Budapesti Corvinus University Gellért Campus. Obuda University was also represented, with Dr. Viktória Sugár, Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Strategic Developments, attending on behalf of the university.

The first part of the program provided participants with an overview of sustainability rankings and university performance, as well as insights into the challenges related to the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. In her presentation, Dr. Viktória Sugár highlighted how participation in these rankings can support institutional strategic goals and enhance international visibility.

The afternoon featured an interactive workshop focused on the QS Sustainability Ranking methodology. Participants explored three thematic areas – Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance – while sharing good practices and experiences from their institutions. The workshop fostered professional dialogue among Hungarian universities and promoted the joint development of sustainability initiatives.

Thank you to the Corvinus University of Budapest for the invitation and organization, and special thanks to Katalin Ásványi, Dean responsible for sustainability, for creating the opportunity for this valuable professional exchange.
